Help I cleaned my wedding ring and a gold ring in my home jewelry cleaner-They’ve turned a metallic green colo?
I have a little ring cleaning machine- with the solution. I put my wedding ring and also my grandmas ring and left it in the solution 2-3 minutes. I then took it out and put it in clean water on the other side and left it in there 5-10 minutes. As i’ve done numerous times before and never had a problem with it. When I got them out- my gold ring is all green. and one side of my silver banded wedding ring is green. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this??
From what I know, your rings either are not real or they are fused with other metals such as steel, copper or nickel. If it turned your finger green then it would be a copper ring oxidizing. You might be able to find somebody to create a replica of the rings, but I doubt you can fix the rings. If you’re a little optimistic you can try cleaning the rings with a little bit of soap, water and a cloth. It won’t harm the ring if its real.
